Principal’s Message

Congratulations on finding our school! We hope that your stay with us is a long and happy one.

As parents you are entrusting your children to our care. We understand the need to support you in their spiritual, academic, physical and social development. Our school is a place of diversity as well as a place of reconciliation and growth and it is characterised as having Jesus Christ at it’s centre.

My belief is that school creates memories for life. It is my role, and the responsibility of every one of our staff, to ensure that each of our students has the opportunity to reach their individual potential, whilst being supported and encouraged within our learning environment.

We recognize that young people in our care are part of a three-way partnership which also includes parents and teachers. It’s important that parents are ready to have open conversations with teachers to create a partnership that is dynamic and successful.

St Bernadette’s has a strong strategic vision which emphasizes exceptional learning, teaching and strong traditional values. We will continue to help each student excel in their given pathway.

We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making. St Bernadette’s has zero tolerance for child abuse. We are committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Every person involved in our school has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role they  play individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all our children.

We warmly welcome input from parents at any time. What you think and feel about education is important to us. Children are unique and we aim to educate them as individuals, thus developing their strengths and encouraging them to recognise their challenges and participate fully in the education process.
