Introduction

Principal's Message

Congratulations on finding our school!  We hope that your stay with us is a long and happy one.

As parents you are entrusting your children to our care. We understand the need to support you in their spiritual, academic, physical and social development. Our school is a place of diversity as well as a place of reconciliation and growth and it is characterised as having Jesus Christ at it's centre.

We warmly welcome input from parents at any time. What you think and feel about education is important to us. Children are unique and we aim to educate them as individuals, thus developing their strengths and encouraging them to recognise their challenges and participate fully in the education process.

St Bernadette's is one of three Catholic schools in the Catholic Parish of Ivanhoe

Our 2018 enrolment is 251 students and a further 18 students in our Transition Prep class.

The school was opened in 1952 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition. Over the years the original buildng has been refurbished extensively and in 2009 we built a new school hall (The Cunningham Centre) and a new Learning Centre for our upper school students. The facilities are now "state of the art" and we have appealing playground spaces, a Tranquility Garden and many outdoor facilities for the students to use.

The school motto "Love One Another" is lived in a variety of ways. Our school community is diverse and we celebrate this.
